Lions and tigers and ostrichs? Oh my!

We spent the weekend in Fort Worth last week. Hurricane Harbor. Fort Woth Zoo. Fossil Rim wildlife park. Dinosaur Valley State Park. It was action packed for only a day and a half. We had to be back Sunday morning to teach Sunday School. As is mandatory at any wildlife park, we got attacked by a killer ostrich. It was all fun, but I think the highlight was swimming in the Paluxy River and checking out the fossilized dinosaur footprints.

Six Flags

We took our mandatory spring break trip to Six Flags with TJ and Tori. Taylor was on a mission trip in Guatemala. The weather was great, and the lines were really short. It had rained enough to close the park the previous 2 days, so we were really surprised.

Is it just me, or is Tori really excited in this picture with Scooby Doo?

Kidstuf

A friend of mine sent me this picture today. It’s a little photoshop job of Gordo from one of the skits when he was a personal trainer for Vinnie. Very classy!

Tires

Why are tread life estimates on tires worthless? My 65,000 mile tires are kaput after 20,000 miles. If I estimated my job performance that badly, I’d be out of work. I guess those are the joys of “low profile” tires. Horrible ride quality, and miserable tread life. Oh well.

Lifehouse “Everything” skit

I’m sure most of you have seen this already, but it’s worth bringing up again.

Swimming with the fishes

Ok. I know they aren’t fishes. I wasn’t really that pumped up about our swim with the dolphins thing going into it. The girls were pretty excited though, so I was looking forward to it on that level. Having done it now, I have to admit it was pretty cool. I don’t know that I ever need to do it again, but for a one time thing it was incredible.

20 years

I find it incredibly hard to believe that it’s been 20 years today since Tammy and I were married. There have been many ups, and probably more downs, but it’s been an exciting ride. I was ridiculously immature for most of those years, and am trying to make up for it a little bit now. I’m thankful that she stuck it out, and hope to make to next 20 MUCH better than the first.

To iPhone, or not to iPhone (again)

So, I already have an iPhone. Now there’s a new iPhone. I really want one, but I don’t need one. Tammy has not been any help at all. One day she says, “Go ahead”, and the next day she says, “Be content with what you have”. So then I convince myself that it isn’t about materialism because I can sell me current one of ebay for more that the new one would cost. I’m getting an upgrade and making money on the deal. But it boils down to the whole production being about a “thing”. And “things” aren’t supposed to matter, right?

TJ under the knife

TJ had a little out patient surgery today to repair a hernia. All went perfectly as expected with no problems. He gets to take it easy for a week or so, and then things should be pretty much back to normal.
